Fantasy: A busy week in the NHL

Hopefully everyone is off to a quality start in their fantasy hockey pools. I’ve won one and lost one week in the HBSL; I swear it’s the week two curse! Both of my head to head leagues I have come out of the gate in great shape, 9-1-2 and 12-2-1. I’m in the middle of the pack in my rotisserie pool and holding down last place in my keeper pool as expected! The rebuild is coming along gloriously as I made two bold trades this weekend that I will share.

Trade one: I found myself with a few extra defensemen and thought perhaps I can do a 2 for 1 trade and get a decent forward in exchange. After some back and forth I was able to get Ghallagher in exchange for Demers and Chychrun. The deal should help both teams as we include all stats in this pool; I was short on forward depth and he was short on defensive depth. Time will tell!

Now for the doozy of a trade…

Trade two: John Gibson + Josh Morrissey I traded away in exchange for Logan Couture, Matthew Tkachuk and Clayton Keller. This was a big trade as goalies are not easy to get your hands on, but with the return giving me some juicy prospects in Tkachuk and Keller I felt confident that Couture was going to help me for years to come and once these two prospects ripen they should help bring me the title down the road.
