Winning streak doesn't change anything

I have to say that I was surprised that the Sabres were able to sneak out another victory in Montreal. I really wasn't expecting three straight wins vs. Montreal/Toronto.

Just because Buffalo have won three games in a row doesn't mean it's time to forget about blowing the team up. They still have a lot of work to do and even if they do make the playoffs, there's nothing easy about playing Pittsburgh or Montreal in a seven game series.

Darcy Regier should be trying to save his job. I believe the best thing for him to do is get this team ready for the future. He needs to make moves that will benefit this team in the next couple of years rather than solely on this season.

Sure, the Sabres have looked better as of late, but I don't think they deserve to be on a three game winning streak. I give them props and am happy they are, but they were badly outshot in both games vs. Montreal and barely held on to both.

All I'm saying is that just because the Sabres have won three straight, I think our next few years should be the main priority for Regier as we get closer to the trade deadline.

Make this team better and don't worry about this season. I'd much rather have a well-prepared team for the future instead of making moves for rental players to help us this year.

What do you think?

On Friday I asked you if you would root for the Sabres to make the playoffs or tank for a first round pick had they won against Montreal. 60% of you said you would root for them to make the playoffs, 39% said you'd want them to tank. (Not sure what happened to that other 1%...)

The Sabres are 7-3-3 over their past 13 games, but may need to be even better than that over the final 16.
