I already made a prediction on Hodgson last month, but I want to add a little more about him.
This is a player that can have a huge impact on the team in the near future. He was a 1st round (10th overall) pick in the 2008 draft by Vancouver, but he really hasn't done much yet. I expect that to change this season.
He scored 33 points in 66 games with the Canucks, but just eight in 20 with the Sabres. And in 12 playoff games, he has just one point.
At just 22 years of age, I think it's time that Hodgson has a breakout season. I'm not saying he's going to go out and lead the team in points, but I think he has a realistic shot at 25 goals this year.
Hodgson won a gold medal playing for Team Canada at the 2009 IIHF World Junior Championships, leading the tournament in scoring. Tyler Myers and Tyler Ennis were also on that team, along with John Tavares and Jordan Eberle.
I was very excited when I heard that the Sabres acquired Hodgson in a trade. He has a lot of potential.
