It has been reported that Buffalo have put defenseman Adam Pardy on waivers. The Sabres also waived Kevin Porter and Nick Tarnasky.

I think it'll be interesting to see whether or not he clears.

Forme Sabre Tim Connolly was also put on waivers today by the Maple Leafs.

The Sabres will be having two lucky fans on the ice for puck drop on Sunday. The winners will be announced tomorrow. Here is the official news release:

BUFFALO, N.Y. (January 17, 2013) --- The Buffalo Sabres today announced that two fans will have the opportunity to drop a ceremonial puck prior to the team’s season-opening game against the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday, Jan. 20 at First Niagara Center. Two lucky winners – one season-ticket holder and one member of the Blue & Gold Club – will be selected at random and announced Friday, Jan. 18.

All Sabres season-ticket holders and members of the Blue & Gold Club, the team’s official waiting list for season tickets, were automatically entered into the contest and have received emails alerting them to the contest. The two winners will be announced live by Kevin Sylvester on Sabres Hockey Hotline, the team’s flagship radio program on WGR 550, at 10:30 a.m. Friday.

Doors at First Niagara Center will open at 10:15 a.m. prior to Sunday’s 12:30 p.m. puck drop. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to take advantage of the Fan Appreciation Sale at the Sabres Store, which opens at 9 a.m. on Sunday. The sale, which has been ongoing throughout the team’s training camp, offers fans a 50% discount on all merchandise at the store and will continue through Sunday’s game.
