As the start of the 2011-12 regular season approaches, the Toronto Maple Leafs made their final round of cuts on Monday.

Defenceman Keith Aulie and forward Mike Zigomanis have been assigned to the Toronto Marlies. Forwards Darryl Boyce and Joey Crabb, along with defenceman Matt Lashoff have been placed on waivers and must clear before reporting to the AHL.

Rookies Jake Gardiner and Matt Frattin have survived the cuts and remain with the team. Gardiner had a fantastic pre-season, collecting a goal and four assists in six games. Frattin also had five points with two goals and three assists. The duo were tied with Colby Armstrong for second on the team in points.

Toronto's roster consists of 24 players, including Nazem Kadri who is on the injured reserve and out 3-4 weeks with a sprained knee. Once Kadri returns from injury, another roster move will be made to get down to 23 players.
