It's been a busy 24 hours here in St. Paul.
- Bemidji State upset Minnesota-Duluth to advance to the WCHA semis as did Colorado College after defeating Alaska-Anchorage.
- The Top Ten Finalists for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award were announced - Cam Atkinson (BC), Carter Camper (Miami), Jack Connolly (UMD), Matt Frattin (North Dakota), Andy Miele (Miami), Gustav Nyquist (Maine), Chase Polacek (RPI), Justin Schultz (UW), Paul Thompson (UNH), Paul Zanette (Niagara).
- USA Hockey announced their head coach for the 2012 World Junior Championship - 2010 NJT and current UNO head coach, Dean Blais.
- AND we were informed at his press conference that VERSUS will air all of Team USA's games at the 2011 World Championship in Slovakia, which might just be the biggest news of all!
I'll run down the Hobey finalists in the not too distant future, but in the meantime, you can revisit
this blog I wrote last week on the topic.
Today the conference semis get under way as teams battle for the right to play for a championship, but also for positioning in the PairWise and the right to play for the National Championship.
