When David Koci was claimed on waivers by the St. Louis Blues from the Tampa Bay Lightning earlier this season, then-coach Barry Melrose hoped out loud that he'd get waived again and that the Lightning would have the chance to reclaim him at that time.

Looks like Melrose wasn't the only one with that hope, as it the Bolts have indeed reclaimed the tough guy, who was waived Wednesday by St. Louis. Koci was scoreless in four games with the Blues and amassed 9 PIM.

It appears as though the Lightning were hoping to have the option of sending Koci to Norfolk but, for that to happen, they'd have to have been the only team putting in a claim and there was at least one other. So, onto the 23-man NHL roster he goes.

That's my understanding of it anyway.

More tomorrow on some other items. (News from Norfolk will be a double update - two weeks worth - next week. The Ads lengthy road trip has made things more difficult.)
