I just heard the crazy dollars being thrown at Zack Parise and Ryan Suter respectively by other teams with more cap space have not deterred the Hawks pursuit of either. This is from a great source.

I'm not sure how or when the Hawks got into the Parise Action, but I did know, as I have shared for a while with all of you, that they had long coveted Suter's services.

Well, after making their pitch yesterday and realizing they were far off from the dollars being offered elsewhere, apparently Suter's camp came back to the Hawks after Suter and his family decided that geography might be more important than a few million more dollars over a number of years.

And I'm told the Hawks are now serious bidders for both or either player. Also, numerous Hawks have apparently made phone calls to both players.

I would file the chances of the Hawks landing both guys under "exceedingly unlikely." However, one or the other now looks like a possibility at least.

Again, this is from a good source who has no reason to pump the Hawks' tires.

Stay tuned.
