Lightning Round: Sustr, Gourde, Qualifying Offers, HOF

"Lightning Round" will be a segment on Hockey Buzz where I recap Tampa Lightning news that took place throughout any given day. This post simply provides the news and will not add analyses. That will come in later posts.

Andrej Sustr Re-Signed

The Lightning re-signed defenseman, Andrej Sustr, to a one-year deal worth $1.95 million. He played in 80 games during the 2016-17 season, recording three goals and 11 assists.




Yanni Gourde Re-Signed

Tampa Bay also re-signed forward, Yanni Gourde, to a two-year, one-way contract worth $1 million per season. Gourde recorded six goals and two assists in 20 games with the Lightning last season.




Qualifying Offers

The Lightning extended qualifying offers to the following nine players:

D Jake Dotchin
G Kristers Gudlevskis
F Tyler Johnson
D Slater Koekkoek
F Tye McGinn
F Ondrej Palat
F Matthew Peca
F Tanner Richard

Andreychuk & Recchi Headed to Hall of Fame

Former Lightning players, Dave Andreychuk and Mark Recchi will be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. Andreychuk, a Lightning legend, played 278 games with the Lighting, scoring 68 goals and adding 61 assists. Recchi only played 62 games of his 1,652 game career but recorded 45 points.
