Tampa Bay Reduces Roster by 12

Steve Yzerman announced today that the Tampa Bay Lightning have reduced their training camp roster to 30 players. This means that a total of 12 players have been assigned to play elsewhere.

Anthony Cirelli, Adam Erne, Mathieu Joseph, Tye McGinn, Matthew Peca, Mitchell Stephens, Dennis Yan, Erik Cernak, Jamie McBain, Ben Thomas, and Daniel Walcott have all been assigned to Syracuse.

Forward prospect, Brett Howden, has been assigned to Moose Jaw of the Westen Hockey League.

Another Number Retired

This afternoon, the Lightning will announce that they will be retiring Vincent Lecavalier's number on Saturday, February 10th. Both Jeff Vinik and Lecavalier are expected to be there for the announcement.
