Game 6 Recap: Ducks Give Sabres First Win of Season

The Anaheim Ducks continued to struggle through what has been a difficult October when they allowed the Buffalo Sabres to obtain their first victory of the season Sunday night, losing 3-1.

The Sabres took control of the game early with a goal from Justin Baily 1:26 into the first period. It would take the Ducks quite some time to get things even but it would eventually happen. Chris Wagner found the back of the net while his team was on the penalty-kill. Anaheim took advantage of an area Buffalo seems to be struggling with as giving up short-handed goals has turned into quite the regular occurrence.

Unfortunately, the Ducks could not build off the momentum created by Wagner's goal. The Sabres would take the lead again off a crazy goal late in the second period that was credited to Benoit Pouliot. Anaheim would never tie the game up again and the only other goal to be scored would be an empty-netter for Buffalo late in the third period.

When it comes to talking about this game, or Anaheim's season in general, there really is not much to say at this point. Although the Ducks are faced with the injury bug, the team is simply underproducing at this point. They look incredibly weak in all offensive aspects of the game and need to start seeing results on special teams.

Luckily, the Ducks will get some time off to hopefully right the wrongs before they play again. They do not play until Friday when they take on the Montreal Canadiens at home.
