The San Jose Sharks made history last night, and punched their ticket to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time in franchise history! Much like the team that has bought into DeBoer's system, the fans are believing and buying into this team. Even in game 7 in the Nashville series, the fans I spoke with expressed that they felt this team was different; they felt like this just might be their year. So, congrats to the Western Conference Final Champions! We will find out who they face tonight, but before that, twitter was all about the San Jose Sharks.

As this is their first time making the Stanley Cup Final, the Sharks haven't created too many serious enemies; many were finding their own reasons to jump on the Sharks bandwagon:

Golden State Warriors facing elimination? Hi new Sharks fans!!

Leafs' fans have their own reasons. Plus their pick in the 2018 draft comes earlier now.

New Jersey Devils fans showing that they aren't bitter.

No other vested interest? Their mascot is pretty cool.

Or, how about Pawvelski?

While some would probably like to give some credit to that lucky black cat Pawvelski, others reminded us of the real reason that the Sharks won their series:

We also shouldn't forget about hockey's most famous new fan, Tony X, who discovered hockey while watching the Saint Louis Blues. Last night, he felt the heartbreak that so many hockey fans have been through before:

Most importantly, Sharks fans let out a sigh of relief 25 years in the making. From those watching at home to fans at the Shark Tank, many shared that feeling of elation when their Sharks' solidified their spot in the Stanley Cup Final.

Any fan that has been around during their team's Stanley Cup run knows just how amazing it can be. The atmosphere inside the arena and around the city is energizing and refreshing. Even if it only lasts a few days or weeks, sports have the ability to unite and inspire an entire fan base. For me, that alone is worth celebrating.
