As you may have seen in Andrew’s blog, the second HabsBuzz episode is available to download and listen. We had a great conversation with Rick Stephens from Allhabs but I will give fair warning and the podcast runs long. It took an hour to cover topics from the draft, Subban/Weber trade, coaching/management, the AHL move and more. As well, I am innately an introvert and so please excuse any growing pains as I get more comfortable on the mic.

This was a fun read on Sportsnet.ca:

As discussed, it's the 25th anniversary of when the NHL thought that each team should have a celebrity captain. They ranked the team's choices from worst to best and the Canadiens were ranked last in 22nd place (yes, the NHL only had 22 teams in 1991). Their choice? None other than the Rocket, Maurice Richard. The reason being that the team should have chosen a non-hockey star, that it was an easy cop-out. Perhaps the team did it to avoid any language debate. William Shatner, the original “Captain Kirk” would have been a terrific choice. I'm trying to think back to the early ‘90s Quebec celebrities and perhaps Mitsou or Roch Voisine could have fit the bill. Celine Dion was just on the cusp of international stardom.

If the NHL were to do this again in 2016, who would be your Canadiens Celebrity Captain?

My vote? P.K. Subban. Just kidding. Sort of.

Actually, I think Jay Baruchel would be a great choice. Who would you vote for?

Cheers & Follow Along!
