Stone Concussed, Lazar Mono

It could have been the worst possible news to come out of the second day of on-ice workouts. The Senators' best forward, Mark Stone has been diagnosed with a concussion and will be evaluated daily to see when he can return. I guess if there is a good time for a concussion (there really isn't), it is three weeks before the start of the regular season so he shouldn't miss much time.

There weren't many details released on how or when he sustained the injury.

In other illness news, Curtis Lazar is getting over a bout with Mono, hence his late arrival to camp. He expects to be back on the ice soon, but that is a tough way to start a season where he needs to hit the ground running to fulfill some of the potential that has been slow in coming, at least offensively. Mono is an illness that essentially saps your strength and takes a while to recover completely from.
