Senators get mangled by Predators |

It was one of those nights where not much went right on the whole.
Already minus Mike Hoffman, the already thin Senators top six lost another member when Bobby Ryan left the game during the first period after being hit by a shot on the hand. He couldn't come back and is questionable for Saturday night against Florida.
It didn't get much better as the Senators hung Mike Condon out to dry on many occasions in the 5-1 Predators win. On many of the goals there were no Senators defenders in sight and they were either partial breakaway shots or back door wide open plays that Condon had little chance on.
One of those games you want to forget ever happened, so there isn't going to be much gained from dissecting what went wrong (a lot) and what went right (not enough) in too much detail.
The only positives might be that they actually scored on the power play and that goal came from the offensively struggling Derick Brassard. Other than that goal that made it 1-1 in the first period, the Senators were out-played, out-shot and out-hustled. They did manage to kill off all four Predators power plays to keep their penalty kill success going.
Hopefully Hoffman and Ryan are both available on Saturday night. Hoffman wasn't deemed to be too serious but Ryan has a history of finger problems that affected his game last season and it couldn't be a good thing to have a repeat of that because he wasn't exactly lighting it up leading up to the injury.
