A night after getting the hook halfway through the 8-2 drubbing at the hands of the Blackhawks, Craig Anderson had a bounce-back game and staked his team to a 4-3 victory over the rival Maple Leafs in Toronto on Wednesday.

Anderson stopped 45 of 48 shots fired his way, facing 16 shots in each period.

Thomas Chabot and Mike Hoffman gave the Senators a 2-0 lead, one that the Leafs battled back to tie and then it was offense from rather unexpected sources as Gabriel Dumont gave them another lead, that was erased before Tom Pyatt scored a nice one with about 3 minutes left that stood up as the winner.

Ottawa had just 50 shot attempts (32 shots on goal) compared to 93 for the home side, if that gives any indication of the tilt of the ice and how good (and fortunate on occasion) Anderson was and the Senators were to come out with a win and enter their break on a positive note.

Ottawa is now off on its bye week, and won't play again until next Thursday when they host the St. Louis Blues.

Team Canada unveiled its start stu...well unveiled its Mens hockey roster, and while short on NHL talent there are some local connections. Chris Kelly, playing in Belleville on an AHL contract will join Team Canada, as will former Senators Rob Klinkhammer and Eric O'Dell (also and Ottawa native). Rockland native Derek Roy made the cut as did other notables such as Maxim Lapierre and Rene Bourque.

Its a crapshoot to say how the team will do, with no current NHL players in the tournament, as many countries will be in the same boat. Most people like to think that Canada could send a "C" team and be competitive, because the talent is that deep, and I guess now we will find out if that is indeed true.
