Sunday afternoon the Penguins looked like the bully in the cartoon that pushes the snowball down the hill, gaining size and speed as it goes, and bowling through the Senators, who then became part of the snowball as it continues on its trek to the bottom of the hill.

All kidding aside (because if you can't laugh a bit at that 7-0 result as a Senators fans you are certainly going to cry), everyone kind of expected a game like this at some point in the series. Still, when it happens it is quite a shock to the system.

Ottawa had no answer, no hope and no fight back in this one, as it was over early and the only question was how bad would it get. And it was pretty bad. Not only was Craig Anderson pulled (twice), but they left an obviously struggling Erik Karlsson in too long and he suffered another tweak to his injured ankle and pulled him, but not until the damage was done that could affect his ability to help the team stave off elimination and force a game 7.

On the plus side, seriously this time, almost every time a team has suffered a big blowout loss in these playoffs, they have come back to win the next time out. I don't know if that will be the case this time, because the Penguins are firing on all cylinders.

The Senators are coming back home and will certainly put forth at least a better effort on home ice than they did in this one, and I know that because it can't possibly get any worse.
