Great Job TO- #FHFF
All reports (via twitter) are that Toronto stepped up and had a great Five Hole For food event yesterday. While the exact numbers aren't in yet, the crew did have a great time in TO. The crew will be in Winnipeg on Saturday (the Forks at Scotia Bank Stage, 12-3), Regina on Sunday (Scarth Street Mall, 3-6), Calgary on Tuesday (Eau Claire Market, 12-6, and Edmonton on Wednesday (Beaver Hill Park, 3-7).
I will be helping out with the Calgary event. If you're in the area, bring down a donation to the Calgary Inner City Food Bank, play a little hockey and say hi. VIP game goes at noon, with several vocal celebrities and athletes playing in the game. Hope to see you all there.
Offer Friday
Once again it's time for another instalment of Offer Friday. While most of the deals are a bit wacky, I always love seeing what fans would try and pull off if they were GM for a day. It's Friday, so just kick back, relax, and enjoy the blog.

AlexF
To CGY: Paul Stastny
To COL: Jay Bouwmeester
Salary wise this swap is almost identical in both term (2 yrs) and $.
Calgary finally get their top line Center to partner with Iginla and Camelleri. The signing of Wideman will cover his loss.
Colorado get a solid veteran presence to solidify the right side and pair with Erik Johnson (Left Side) as their top line. The emerge of O'Reilly last season sees him slot into the 2nd line Center slot behind Duchene.
My Thoughts- I like the idea, but I think the move helps Colorado more than Calgary, so Calgary would need to get something else back. Losing JBo, would crush the Flames blueline. If he is dealt, Calgary needs to get back at least a serviceable D. I also like the kids that the Avs have coming up, so I wouldn't be so quick to make a bold move like this. Siemens, Elliot, and Barrie can all play and aren't too far away.
Pker2theend
To Florida: Luongo, Kassian, Jensen, 1st round pick
To Van: Kulikov, Goc, Huberdeau, Theodore
My Thoughts-I really don't see what Canucks fans see in Goc, but his name seems to keep coming up. As far as the deal, I love Kulikov, can't see Huberdeau getting traded and Theo is a must in any Lu deal. I think Vancouver is giving up a lot and can't see any deal happening with Huberdeau involved. Maybe, something along the lines of Luongo, Raymond, and Connauton or Sauve for Theo and Kulikov.
Scooby_Doo
To Florida- Luongo and Raymond
For
To Vancouver- Versteeg (signed), Theodore, Howden and a 3rd rd pick
My Thoughts- I think the 3rd rd pick is a bit much, but I've suggested deals like this one in the past. I can see a Versteeg and Theo for Lu and Raymond type of deal getting done.
VANTEL
To Chicago- Luongo 5.3, Burrows 2.0, Higgins 1.9, David Honzik (6'3 Czech goalie prospect)
Total 9.2
To Vancouver- Sharp 5.9, Crawford 2.6, Shaw 565 K
Total 9.1
Lu addresses goaltending now and Honzik for the future. Burrows (30 goals) can pop in goals and give them another guy to throw teams off their game.
Higgins addresses their 3rd line issues and can step in to top 6 when needed. Fifteen goals
Sharp gives us a 30 goal second or first line true RW
Crawford can back up for two years as Lack develops and can be added for future trades.
Shaw gives us a little poop disturber third liner.
My Thoughts- Vancouver is not dealing Burrows just to move Lu out and get Andrew Shaw. In my opinion, Burrows is as good as Sharpe, and Lu is better than Crawford. Higgins for Shaw isn't terrible, but it's not happening.
John Blakeson
To Vancouver- Eager
For
To Edmonton- Ballard
My Thoughts- Well I guess Eager has helped Vancouver win more games than Ballard has, but I still wouldn't want to see him in Vancouver. I like what Eager brings when he is in control, but when he crosses that line, that part of his game worries me.
To Vancouver- Blum
For
To Nashville- Raymond
My Thoughts- I like this deal. Blum is actually a player that I would send an offer sheet to, but if the Preds would take Raymond over a 2nd rd pick I'd do it.
Mitchel Hughes
To Toronto- Luongo, Raymond, and Ballard
For
To Vancouver- Lupul and Komisarek
My Thoughts- I've been a fan of a Komi for Ballard since last year, and that is a move that I would gamble on working. I think Komi brings the toughness, size, and nastiness that Vancouver needs. If we're talking bad contract, for bad contract I think it is worth the risk. Now, Lupul for Lu and Raymond, that is a bit tougher for me to swallow. I'd like to see an Ashton, Colborne, Biggs, Finn, Percy, Ross, Blacker, or even a Broll put in this deal.
Denis Bourke
To Vancouver- MacArthur, Bozak, Gardiner and a 1st
For
To Toronto- Luongo, Raymond, Ballard, Edler and a 1st
Then
To Anaheim- Edler, Raymond, Kadri and a 2nd
For
To Toronto- Getzlaf
My Thoughts- My first question is, if that package gets you Getzlaf, why wouldn't Vancouver just put a deal together for him and bypass the Leafs? Vancouver could then deal Luongo and Ballard to Toronto for Gardiner and MacArthur if the Leafs want those players.
That's a wrap.

Five Hole For Food
Five Hole For Food is coming to a town near you this summer. For those of you that don't know, the concept was brought forward by some friends in Vancouver, who decided they would travel the country setting up street hockey games. The price to play in the game is a can of food or donation to the local food bank.
To date Five Hole for Food has raised over 70,000 pounds of food for food banks and is continuing the fight against hunger all over North America!
