I'm going to go with the Florida Panthers.

They signed the two best defensemen on the market in Keith Yandle and Jason Demers. Yandle has six straight 40+ point seasons to his name (lockout year aside) while Demers is a good possession driving, minute muncher who can also chip in some offense.

Beyond that they acquired a very underrated blue liner in Mark Pysyk and signed a couple excellent depth players in Colton Sceviour and Jonathan Marchessault. Oh, and they also brought in the NHL's leader in 5 v 5 save percentage last season to solidify their goaltending behind Roberto Luongo.

Honorable mentions go to New Jersey and Nashville.

Florida. Without a doubt.

Adding Ekblad and Reilly Smith to long term deals was excellent, but they really killed it on the open market.

Demers, Reimer, Sceviour, Marchessault and Yandle will all be big parts of this team next year. They also made excellent trades to acquire Mark Pysyk and Jared McCann for some more youth to an already young team.

They improved right now, in the long term, and on a monetary, more cost controlled basis. This team is going to be very good the next few years and we might look back at this offseason as the penultimate one to their success.

It's easy to say Florida simply because they have been the most active and look to adding better than what they have subtracted but I wonder if too much change hurts.

Edmonton has made some moves too that time will tell is smart or not as have Montreal in the same way. I think the Stars will have the biggest change simply because they didn't do a lot but added smart players like Dan Hamhuis to a developing roster. The same could be said for the Flyers to teams that did smart little things rather than big splashy things.

However, I'll contradict myself and say Nashville- Subban is going to kill it there!

This question has only one answer: New Jersey, and the reason is because they added one of the best players in the game in a trade so ridiculous it defies reason.
