Hotstove: Which Goaltender Should The Anaheim Ducks Trade?

I think the Anaheim Ducks would be smart to trade Frederik Andersen.

John Gibson hasn't played as many games but he has posted a better career save percentage (.920 vs .918) and goals against average (2.22 vs 2.33) while playing behind the exact same players. Gibson has also equalled Andersen's shutout totals in 59 less appearances.

Andersen is four years older and in line to be paid starter's money while the Ducks, who don't have a lot of money to play with due to an internal budget, have Gibson signed for three more years at a very friendly salary of $2.3M per.

Andersen should absolutely be the guy to go.

No contest, it has to be Frederik Andersen. John Gibson has 3 more years at a very reasonable $2.3M per year. RFAs Hampus Lindholm and Rickard Rakell need to be signed. There is no room on the budget conscious Ducks for the contract Andersen has earned.
