I think Jake Allen is a pretty good goaltender but I do not agree with benching Brian Elliott.

He posted an absurd .930 save percentage in 42 regular season games and finished 2nd in the NHL in 5 v 5 save percentage.

Elliott has been fantastic in the playoffs, too, as he owns a .925 save percentage to date. For comparison sake Matt Murray is probably one of the Conn Smythe favorites and he has posted a .923 save percentage in the playoffs.

Scoring goals, not goaltending, is the biggest problem for the Blues right now and I don't see how changing goaltenders is going to make any difference.

Jason Lewis

No. Elliott has been superb through these playoffs and the fact that Hitchcock is yanking him after two down games is absurd. If every coach had as short a leash as that with their goalie, no team would ever have a designated starter. Elliott has earned the right to carry the team through to wherever they go, and it is disappointing to see that decision come about.

James Tanner

They are making a horrible mistake. Brian Elliot has been the best goalie in the NHL this season, deserves the Vezina, even if he didn't play eough games, and it's been something like two or three games since the Blues scored from a high-danger area (meaning they aren't creating chances and wouldn't win unless Elliot posted a shutout).

Entering a must win game without your best player because of some old wive's tale voodoo about "changing things up" for your team by switching goalies is idiotic.

The Blues would be better off sitting Tarasenko than Elliot, that's how stupid of a move this is.
