With four points in as many games played since his return from a knee injury, it appears that Alex Galchenyuk has found his form once again. Just don’t ask him about it during an interview…

Yikes.

A wizard on the powerplay last night, the 22-year-old first line centre notched a tally during a surging man advantage that scored three times against the New Jersey Devils. He also added helpers on both Shea Weber and Max Pacioretty’s goals, while Alex Radulov picked up three assists as well.

Though there was quite a bit of debate regarding Galchenyuk’s new even-strength combination with Sven Andrighetto and Andrew Shaw, head coach Michel Therrien opted to keep them together during the duration of the entire game while reuniting the captain, Radulov and the number one centre during the powerplay. Evidently, the coach’s decision paid its fair share of dividends.

Andrighetto played another solid game and could have scored at least twice, but instead opted to pass the puck to Galchenyuk during a two-on-one break instead of shooting at Keith Kinkaid’s net.

Note: yesterday’s poll asked how long the Andrighetto-Galchenyuk-Shaw combination would stick together, and 31.5% of you guessed correctly in assuming they would play at least an entire game together.

With no practices being held today ahead of their matchup against the Buffalo Sabres, there is no update on lineup changes for the time being. The Sabres should be a tired bunch, as they needed overtime to defeat the Detroit Red Wings last night and traveled to Montreal shortly thereafter.

In other good news, Andrei Markov and Greg Pateryn took to the ice this morning to practice in Brossard, Quebec:
