Filip Zadina, is an 18-year-old sniper who is attracting massive amounts of attention these days. Zadina is expected to be selected in the top three positions at the NHL Draft in Dallas in June.

Zadina's Halifax Mooseheads have been knocked out of the QMJHL playoffs. According to an infor.cz report, the Pardubice native has accepted the invitation from Team Czech Republic to play for his country at the 2018 IIHF World Championships in Denmark.

"If I get an invitation to attend training camp, I will not wait for anything, and I'm just going to the plane. Representation for me means the most, and that would be a dream. Every training and even one match, "said Zadina in an interview with iSport.cz.

Buffalo Sabres fans are familiar with Pardubice, Czech Republic.

Pardubice is the hometown of Sabres legend and Hockey Hall Of Famer Dominik Hasek.

The Sabres finished the 2017-18 regular season in 31st-place in the NHL standings. The Sabres are now owners of the best odd of selecting first overall at the NHL Draft. The NHL Draft Lottery will be held in Toronto on Saturday April 28. The Sabres are in an enviable position with an 18.5% of selecting first overall at the NHL Draft. Presumably, if the Sabres win the lottery, they will select slick Swedish puck mover Rasmus Dahlin first overall. However, if they end up with the second, third, or fourth overall pick, the Sabres could in fact select Zadina with their first round selection.

Sabres GM Jason Botterill and head coach Phil Housley are looking for skilled, speedy wingers to upgrade Buffalo's top six forward group.

A Zadina-Eichel duo would pose massive problems for Eastern and Western Conference foes in 2018-19.

Zadina is mentioned in the same breath as highly-respected draft eligible forwards Andrei Svechnikov (RW) and Brady Tkachuk (LW/C).

Zadina's pre-draft stock may continue to rise should he perform well for Team Czech Republic at the IIHF Worlds in Denmark next month.

Zadina was a rock star as he scored 7 goals and added an assist at the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships in Buffalo (from December 26 to January 5, 2018).

The 6'1", 195 lb. left winger is a world class player. He skates like the wind, has a bomb of a shot, is hard to knock off the puck and is blessed with some of the silkiest mitts in the world. He can he skate, create, and score. Zadina will infuse immediate even strength and power play offense for the NHL team that selects him. Zadina can do it all. He can do it all extremely well. His high-end skill translates perfectly to the National Hockey League. Zadina will need to work on his defensive game at the next level. He's strong in all three zones now but will have to learn to respect the speed of the NHL. I don't see a long learning curve for Zadina. He's a plug-n-play sniper.

Zadina played 57 games for Halifax where he scored 44 goals and 38 assists.

In nine playoff games, Zadina added five goals and seven assists for the Mooseheads.

Thumb up and smile 🍒

Mike Babcock and teh Toronto Maple Leafs will have to play Games 2-4 of their first round series against the Boston Bruins without their shut down center Nazem Kadri.

NHL Department of Player Safety has suspended Kadri for three games for his egregious boarding penalty against Bruins winger Tommy Wingels in Game 1 of Bruins-Leafs first round series on Thursday night.

George Parros isn't messing around in the first round of the playoffs. Kadri crossed the line and is getting slapped with a hat trick of games.

Parros suspended LA Kings star defenseman Drew Doughty for his illegal hit to the head of Las Vegas Knights forward Will Carrier on Wednesday night.
