Jimmy Vesey's camp has not informed any of the eight NHL teams That they are out of contention. That will likely happen later tonight or Friday.

One of Vesey's agents, Peter Donatelli, told ESPN Boston that Team Vesey has a lot of data to evaluate.

"Impressive meetings with a lot of different perspectives has certainly given the camp a lot to think about," said Peter Donatelli, one of Vesey's agents.

There have been reports and rumors that some of the teams have been informed of their exit from the Vesey Scramble.

"No, that's not true at all," Donatelli said. "None of the teams we met with have been told that. Everyone is still in the mix. We're going to try and drill down right now to a few [teams] and then either call some teams with some questions or not. We'll probably reach out to a few teams with some questions that we think were either unanswered or we want clarification on, but that's the intent today."

Expect a short list come Friday.

Is Patrick Kane's Buffalo love being questioned?

The South Buffalo native and self-admitted Buffalo Sabres fanatic reportedly did the unthinkable on Wednesday. According to the Providence Journal, Kane, the three time Stanley Cup champion, Team USA hero, and unabashed Buffalo believer was in attendance for the Blackhawks' face to face pitch to UFA Jimmy Vesey.

Pat Kane went to Boston to switch pitch the Harvard scoring star to play for the Blackhawks.

Kane was reportedly a part of the Chicago's presentation group that met with Vesey and his agents in Boston on Wednesday.

NHL GMs have been leaning in their A-list players in their recruitment of Vesey. Sabres GM Tim Murray started the trend when he began using Vesey's great friend Jack Eichel as a recruitment tool. Murray quipped that he would be a "tool" not to use Eichel to get Vesey to commit to playing alongside him in Buffalo. The Islanders brought their best player John Tavares to their meeting with Vesey. The MapleLeafs brought Austin Matthews. Why? I don't know. Matthews hasn't participated in one NHL practice yet.

Pat Kane must still be sore at Sabres fans for booing him incessantly when #88 and his Hawks played in Buffalo.

You won't get a final decision today. It will likely happen by the weekend.

“No decision today,” Vesey's agent Peter Fish told WEEI today.

Fish said he and Vesey gathered a considerable amount of info from eight NHL teams on Tuesday and Wednesday. Team Vesey is “just taking everything in from the past couple of days and trying to digest and sort through.”

Vesey met with eight teams during the due diligence period. Buffalo held the exclusive negotiating rights to Vesey by virtue other trade that Tim Murray executed with the Nashville Predators in late June. Buffalo's exclusivity period ended at midnight on Tuesday 8/16.

Vesey met with the Sabres, Bruins, Blackhawks, Devils, Rangers, Islanders, Penguins and Maple Leafs.
