The Buffalo Sabres have lost 346 man games to injury this season. This total will increase on Monday.

Buffalo has suffered another paralyzing blow to it's patchwork turnstile of a blue line.

The 2016-17 Sabres season will be remembered at the year from hell in terms of catastrophic injuries and the lack of consistency in their collective D corps.

Dan Bylsma has had to play 11 different D-men this season. They number will likely increase to 12 in the next few hours.

The Sabres will leave defensemen Cody Franson and Taylor Fedun in Buffalo while they travel to Detroit for a Monday night's match against the Red wings.

Bylsma ran a Sunday brunch skate with just four healthy D-men.

Here we go again.

Franson and Fedun suffered injuries in the shootout win at Anaheim.

Terry Murray's D corps has been decimated by recent injuries to Dmitry Kulikov (concussion), Cody Franson (undisclosed), Fedun (foot), and Falk (lower leg).

Get ready for Rasmus Ristolainen, Jake McCabe, Zach Bogosian and Josh Gorges to eat a ton of TOI in Detroit and then again at home on Tuesday night Pittsburgh visits.

Tim Murray's lack of organizational depth at D is his glass jaw.

Murray has loaded his cupboards at the draft with skilled forwards. He has not done a great job sticking Rochester with difference making D prospects.

Look for Murray to call up Casey Nelson. Recently acquired Mat Bodie (Dan Catenacci trade to NYR) is also a plausible option to be called up to play in a Detroit. Erik Burgdoerfer is also a warm body who can play in a pinch.

Murray cannot make any roster moves until after 7pm EDT because the Amerks are playing a 4pm early bird special against the Toronto Marlies. Rochester played back to back games Friday and Saturday against the St. John's Ice Caps in Newfoundland.
