No Jack Eichel at summer shinny on Wednesday night. Eichel, Samson Reinhart and a few of the Sabres' prospects took in the Justin Bieber concert in Buffalo on Tuesday night.

#VeseyWatch continues in Buffalo.

This thing is getting hotter than an July day in Buffalo.

Jimmy Vesey skated once again for Team Harlow at the Foxboro summer league on Wednesday night. Afterwards, Vesey reiterated my friend Pete Gallivan of WGRZ Buffalo and Joe Haggerty (CSN Boston) that last Thursday's meeting with the Buffalo Sabres did in fact go very well.

"Tim (Murray) was pretty understanding about me taking my time and I respect that out of him. I'm still going to wait until August 15th but I had a good meeting with Buffalo but I'm pretty much just waiting until August 15th," Vesey said.

Vesey spoke highly of his great friend Jack Eichel, who my end up being the reason Vesey chooses Buffalo over a short list of teams that includes Boston and NY Rangers.

"He (Eichel) is a once in a lifetime type of talent and I know him pretty well so it would definitely be comforting to walk into a locker room with him there and him show me the ropes so it's definitely a factor in the process," Vesey said,

Of his meeting with Tim Murray, Dan Bylsma, and Jerry Forton, Vesey also said:

"It was a good meeting to get a feel for what the process is going to be like," Vesey said.

"We're going to August 15 like I've said all along, but to talk to a GM and a coach is going to give me an idea what to expect. They said to me they're not trying to create a circus or anything like that and they're going to leave me alone now. So I respected Buffalo throughout the whole thing."

Thanks, WGRZ

The Sabres recently traded a third round pick to the Nashville Predators for the rights to negotiate with Vesey before he becomes a free agent August 15th.

Vesey, a Boston native and lifelong Bruins fan, will spend time vetting the Bs when he becomes UFA on August 15. Sabres fans won't take kindly to Vesey spending time with the hated Bruins.

At some point before speaking with Gallivan on Wednesday night, Vesey told Haggerty that we will "definitely be meeting with Boston in August". Vesey confirmed that Buffalo and Boston are on his short list of teams that he will seriously consider playin for in September. Vesey, 23, will be signing a two year entry level contract in August. Only he, his agent, and family know exactly which team it will be with and all parties are cloaked in silence today.

FOXBORO – This summer has been like no other for Harvard hockey standout and North Reading resident Jimmy Vesey. He’s had Buffalo Sabres GMs and coaches fly to Boston in order to pitch him on signing, and he’s got a score of NHL teams just waiting to get a chance to sign him when he becomes an unrestricted free agent on Aug. 15.

The 23-year-old said it was “comfortable” and a “very good meeting” with the Sabres contingent of GM Tim Murray, coach Dan Bylsma and former Harvard assistant coach/Sabres scout Jerry Forton last week when they flew to Boston to make their pitch to Vesey. But the Hobey Baker Award winner and his camp are insistent on getting to the Aug. 15 date when he’ll become a free agent, and talk to “a short list” of teams.

“I think it would be a little crazy to meet with all 29 teams,” admitted Vesey to CSN in an exclusive interview prior to his weekly Wednesday night appearance in the summer pro league at the Foxboro Sports Center. “We have a little bit of a short list going that I’ve worked on with my agents and my family. We’re going to narrow it down as best as we can, and get through it as quickly as we can on Aug. 15.”

While Vesey didn’t go through the entire list of teams, he did freely admit that the Bruins will be one of them that will get a chance to win him over next month.

“I’ve said it all along that Boston is definitely on my list of teams that I’d like to talk to. It’s a team that I’ve rooted for all my life, and it’s a team that I watched win the Stanley Cup in 2011,” said Vesey, who finished with 24 goals and 46 points in 33 games with the Crimson as a senior last season.

“I’ll definitely be meeting with Boston in August.

Thanks, CSN Boston

Sabres GM Tim Murray owns Vesey's exclusive negotiating rights until August 15.

The only NHL team that Vesey can speak with is Buffalo. Vesey he revealed Wednesday night he has a short list in his head of teams that he wants to sign and play with.
