The Buffalo Sabres are now on their NHL mandated bye week after dropping a 5-1 decision to the Chicago Blackhawks on sunday night.

Sabres GM Tim Murray has assigned forwards Justin Bailey, Nick Baptiste and Evan Rodrigues to the Rochester Amerks.

My guess is that Bailey will be recalled once the Sabres end their five day bye.

Bailey has been a breath of fresh air skating at the speed of sound alongside Ryan O'Reilly and Kyle Okposo.

Bailey has 19 goals and 10 assists in Rochester this season.

Rodrigues has been filling in for the injured Zemgus Girgensons as he recovers from his mid-body injury. If Girgensons is healthy for the Colorado game in Denver on Saturday night, Rodrigues will stay with the Amerks.

Rodrigues has 9 goals and 18 assists in 44 games in Rochester this season.

Baptiste was recalled Saturday to fill in for the flu-stricken Samson Reinhart.

Baptiste has scored 19 goals and 11 assists in 42 games this season.
