On a night where his former battery mate Craig Anderson faced him from the lonely end of the rink, Robin Lehner made 32 saves and defeated his former club the Ottawa Senators 2-1.

Lehner was rock solid for the Sabres.

The Buffalo win ends the Senators three-game winning streak.

Lehner is now 2-0-1 in four appearances against his former club with a .953 save percentage and a 1.41 GAA.

Lehner played for the Senators from 2010-15.

With the 2-1 win in Ottawa, the Sabres and Senators have had 14 of their last 19 games decided by a single goal.

Lehner was brilliant on Saturday night. He was cat-quick and played at the edge of his crease. He made several early saves that allowed him to settle in and lead from his crease.

The Sabres have consecutive wins against the Senators for the first time since they won six in a row from December 4, 2010 to November 11, 2011.

Kyle Okposo scored for the Sabres on a re-direct of a Jake McCabe bullet with butterfly wings. Okposo now has a team leading five goals to go along with his three assists in ten games played.

Samson Reinhart scored the GWG, his third goal of the season.

Rasmus Ristolainen recorded his eighth assist of the season on the Reinhart goal and now tied for eighth in the NHL in assists this season.

The Sabres are now 5-4-2, with an impressive 4-1-2 road record.

Buffalo will play in Boston on Monday.

Nazem Kadri deserves a 10 game suspension for this putrid head hunting of Daniel Sedin.

Leading 5-2 in the third period, Kadri suckered the defenseless Sedin with a blind side head shot.

Sedin is a Lady Byng player. He's a lover, not a fighter. Kadri si a shamless self promoter who badly wants to be viewed as a tough guy in the NHL. There's nothing tough about Kadri's hit on Sedin. It was bad judgement and it was dirty. The hit should have never happened. It's not interference because the player had the puck.

Kadri is a multi-time offender and has been suspended three times in his NHL career. Kadri deserves a long term suspension for his cowardly act. Sedin's head was teh principle point of contact.

I love how Ryan Miller entered the battle and defended his rookie teammate Stecher from a beat down at teh hands of Matt Martin.

After the lopsided loss, Miller said that he wasn't going to allow young Stecher to be spanked by the bigger, meaner Martin.

The Canucks lost 6-3 in Toronto.

The Canucks are now 0-7-1 in their last eight games. The Canucks started teh season 4-0 and have fallen off the face of the planet since the first week of the season.
