As repoted by Lou Michel, Jane Kwiatkowski Radlich, and Dan Herbeck of the Buffalo News, Buffalo Sabres power forward Evander Kane turned himself into Buffalo Police Friday, and sources said he will be charged with misdemeanor criminal trespass and at least two non-criminal counts of harassment in connection with an early-morning confrontation last month at a Chippewa Street bar.

According to The News, Buffalo Police detectives were seen meeting Kane outside the Central Booking Bureau in City Court around 11 a.m.. Kane was handcuffed and escorted into the Buffalo City Court building.

Kane turned and walked away from a Buffalo News reporter when she asked them if he had any comment.

Kane's attorney Paul J. Cambria reiterated Kane's innocence despite turning himself into police.

“Without a doubt, he plans to defend himself against these charges,” Cambria said.

Cambria said it is his understanding that Kane will face one misdemeanor count of criminal trespass and up to four counts of non-criminal harassment.

The allegations stem from an altercation on June 24 at the Bottoms Up disco in the Chippewa party district where Kane, three women and a bouncer were involved in a disturbance.

NY Rangers forward Chris Kreider is the owner of a new $18 million, 4 year contract. The settlement came moments before Kreider and the Rangers were scheduled to do battle in a scheduled arbitration hearing.

This according to Aaron Ward.

Kreider's $4.625M AAV is certainly higher than where the Rangers thought it would come in at.

The Kreider re-signing leaves the Rangers with only $6 million in available salary cap space for 2016-17.

Kevin Hayes remains RFA and awaits his arbitration hearing. Hayes will be earning a similar AAV to Kreider.

The Rangers will have to make a trade of a sizable contract if they are serious about trading for St. Louis Blues puck mover Kevin Shattenkirk. When Keith Yandle signed a UFA deal with the Florida Panthers earlier this season, it opened a large hole on the Rangers' blue line. Shattenkirk would certainly fill that void with his unique brand of skating, scoring and defending.

Ottawa Senators sniper Mike Hoffman smiles at the Kreider AAV. Hoffman earned $2M AAV last season. He has scored 56 goals the past two seasons.

The Boston College alumnus has scored 7 goals the past four seasons in Gotham.
