Thanks, Buffalo Sabres

His patience admittedly wearing this, Jack Eichel skated with his teammates for the fourth time on Monday. Afterwards, Eichel said he has cleared all hurdles in his recovery from his dastardly injury that has sidelined him for the first 25% of the season.

If ever the Sabres needed a hero to help them score goals and win close games, its right now.

Buffalo has been doing the doggy paddle for six plus weeks while their best player recovers from his first major injury of his brief NHL career.

There is a very strong possibility that the 2015 second overall pick returns to starting lineup when the the Sabres play the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday night.

Eichel won't show anyone his cards until Tuesday.

Eichel will travel with his teammates to Ottawa.

Eichel's high-ankle sprain occurred seven weeks ago on Wednesday. Eichel has not played in Buffalo's first 21 games of the season. The Sabres are desperate for a goal scoring savior. The Sabres are dead last in goal scoring in the NHL with 38. In the month of November, the Sabres have scored just 19 goals in 13 games played. The 15,000 gorilla in the room is that the Sabres cannot score at 5v5 nor at 3v3 in OT. Of Buffalo's 38 goals, 14 of them have been scored on the power play. So, 24 even strength goals in 21 games played?

How? Why?

According to the Sabres, Eichel worked on the left point adjacent to Rasmus Ristolainen on Buffalo's number one power play unit.

After the extended work session, Eichel refused to spill the beans on if he is playing Tuesday night.

Dan Bylsma said that Jack looked good in Monday's practice. Bylsma said Eichel looked good in the battle drills he was put through in Sunday.

I've had Eichel penciled in for a return on December 1 when his buddy Jimmy Vesey and the NY Rangers come calling to Buffalo.

Bylsma re-worked his forward trios to accommodate Eichel.

Here are Monday's lines:

Moulson-ROR- Okposo
Foligno-Larsson- Gionta
Carrier-Grant-Girgensons
