The Anaheim Ducks were forced to have to play without starting goalie John Gibson Wednesday night against the Boston Bruins.

According to the Ducks, Gibson tried to participate in the game day skate on Wednesday morning, however, was forced to leave the ice with a lower body injury.

Jhonas Enroth was recalled from the San Diego Gulls of the AHL to serve as backup behind Jonathan Bernier, who allowed three goals on just six shots to the Arizona Coyotes before being replaced by John Gibson at the start of the second period on Tuesday night.

Since being claimed on waivers from Toronto in December, Enroth is 10-2 with a 1.42 GAA and .922 save percentage.

In 48 games this season, Gibson has a 23-15-8 record with a 2.24 GAA and a .922 save percentage.

In the event that Gibson's injury is more serious than first thought, the Ducks may make a trade deadline move to acquire Ryan Miller from the Vancouver Canucks, Miller, 36, will be UFA on July 1. There is reason to believe that the Canucks will move Miller at the trade deadline in order to get maximum value for him in a trade rather than lose him to unrestricted free agency with zero compensation in July.

In 37 games played in Vancouver this season, Miller has a 2.17 GAA and .917 save percentage.

Jacob Markstrom has proven to be a quality start for the Canucks posting a 2.63 GAA and .910 save percentage in his 26 starts. The Canucks can promote prospect Thatcher Demko to backup Markstrom in the event that Miller leaves at the trade deadline.

Miller has a no move clause in his contract, however, he has identified five teams that he would accept a trade to. Anaheim, Los Angeles and San Jose are three of the five teams that Miller would agree to play for.
