Everybody dance now.

The Ottawa Senators have agreed to terms with defenceman Cody Ceci ona two-year bridge contract.

The Sens locked up the 23 year old Ceci to a team friendly $2.8M AAV. Ceci will earn $2.25M this seasons and $3.35M next season. The Sens have released the actual AAV which is refreshing.

Ceci, 22, established new NHL career highs in goals (10), points (26) and penalty minutes (18) while matching his career high for assists (16) over 75 games with the Senators during the 2015-16 season. Upon the conclusion of the season, he also skated with Team Canada at the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in Moscow/St. Petersburg, Russia. In 10 games with Team Canada, he scored one goal and earned five assists while helping the team to a gold medal.

With Ceci signed, there are three restricted free agent D-men waiting patiently for their next contracts.

In Buffalo, Rasmussen Ristolainwn is looking for a long term deal in the six year, $36M neighborhood. Risto isn't interested in a two year bridge deal nor is Anaheim D Hampus Lindholm nor Winnipeg's Jacob Trouba.

Ristolainen, Lindholm and Trouba are looking for long term security and a lucrative term. I can see each of these unsigned RFA getting their way in terms of AAV and term in the $5.75M to $6M AAV range.

I fully and completely expect new contracts for Ristolainen, Lindholm and Trouba to be announced in the very near future.
