Its August, and while I'm smashing down Klondike Bars like I'm getting paid to do so, Sabres Cody Hodgson, Dan Catenacci, and a few dozen of the top players in the NHL are busting their humps with the master motivator, Gary Roberts.

BioSteel makes all the difference in the world for players who want to get the most out of their talent. NHLers like Hodgson, Steven Stamkos, Carey Price, Mike Cammalleri, Tyler Seguin, Stephen Weiss, Michael Del Zotto, Chris Stewart,Wayne Simmonds, Biz Nasty 2.0, Alex Galchenyuk, and many more swear by the Roberts-Nichols training methods.

I've spoken with Hodgson many times about his experiences that he has achieved while training with Roberts. Hodgson raves about the program being more than just a workout. Hodgson sees it as a total lifestyle program where he's learned to maximize his diet, eating habits, rest-recovery, endurance and overall nutrition.

Gary Roberts is a player development and strength and conditioning coach, and a former NHL star. Gary played 21 seasons in the NHL for the Calgary Flames, Carolina Hurricanes, Toronto Maple Leafs, Florida Panthers, Pittsburgh Penguins and Tampa Bay Lightning. Drafted 12th overall by the Calgary Flames in the 1984 NHL entry draft, Gary helped the Calgary Flames win a Stanley Cup in 1989 and had continued success in Calgary until 1996 when a neck-injury forced him to sit out the entire 1996-1997 NHL season. Although most NHL analysts and doctors thought Gary would be forced to retire because of the injury, Gary proved them wrong. Through vigorous training and reconditioning, Gary returned to the NHL the following season and won the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy for perseverance and dedication to hockey. With a new found commitment to fitness, Gary played 12 more seasons in the NHL and finished his NHL career with 3 All-Star appearances, 438 goals and 910 points, and is one of only 250 players to have ever played 1000 games or more. Gary’s belief in the power of healthy eating and proper training earned him the reputation of being one of hockey’s top fitness gurus.

Gary now spends his summers training NHL players, teaching them how to train and eat properly in order to achieve optimal results on the ice. Gary’s clients include Steven Stamkos, Stephen Weiss, Michael Del Zotto, and last year’s top scoring rookie, Jeff Skinner. Gary also designs programs for numerous NHL players who are unable to train with him in person. Along with proper nutrition and meal planning, Gary teaches his players about the importance and proper selection of supplements. Gary ensures that his players use the BioSteel High Performance Sports Drink and the BioSteel Advanced Recovery Formula as he believes that BioSteel Sports Supplements provides the highest quality and most effective supplements available in the world.

In his first OHL season, Nikita Zadorov wasted very little time making a name for himself.

Just 27 seconds into his first ever OHL game last September, Zadorov chucked the knucks with OHL tough guy Johnny MGuire of the Erie Otters.

I like how the kid embarked on his OHL journey with a bang!

The Sabres got a great one when they invested the 16th overall pick (from Jason Pomniville trade with Minnesota) in the physically gifted man-child, Zadorov.

The kid is 6'5 200 lbs. (and is still growing!). He skates like a bullet train and he loves to dummy enemy attackers with bone crushing precision and brute force . The mere mention of his name causes opposing coaches and players to think twice about rattling his cage during shifts and inside games.

Zadorov led all rookies with a plus +33 rating in his freshman season with the London Knights. At season's end, he ranked second among OHL rookie D in points with 6 goals and 19 assists for 25 points.

I got an up close glimpse into the future earlir this month when I watched Zadorv, Ristolainen, and McCabe skate in two days worth of drills. I liked what I saw of the trio. Then, on the final day of rookie camp, Zadorov blew me away with his dominant play in the Blue and Gold scrimmage. Ristolainen and McCabe were equally as impressive.

Zadorov instinctively delivered heavy body checks and kept his zone clean during the scrimmage. I thought it uncanny that he never looked lost or out of position on the ice. On dseveral occasions, Zadorov crept down the wall, deep into Gold territory. He didn't panic, nor did he hesitate to pressure the puck. When enemies stepped into his path, he flattened them with ease. He communicated very well with his D partner during shifts. He created, defended and notched 2 assists for the Blue squad.

This kid's got the whole package, just like Ristolainen and McCabe.

I'm told that Buffalo will announces Zadorov's entry level contract signing in the near future. i'm surprised that it hasn't happened already. He's already preparing to play his sophomore season with the London Knights, where he will continue to perpetrate his personal reign of terror on the Ontario Hockey League.

Like marble pillars, Zadorov and Ristoalinen are huge building blocks for this evolving Sabres team.

The future hasn't looked the bright in quite a long time.
