The NHLPA and the NHL are scheduled to meet in moments at the NHLPA’s offices in downtown Toronto.
Time to roll up the sleeves and clear the air.
The players will offer their response to the 50-50 proposition that the owners presented to the NHLPA on Tuesday. There is a one week time limit set on this negotiation, as the NHL would like the players to agree to their deal, as presented, so that NHL games can begin on November 2.
Negotiations continue in an effort to reach a new collective bargaining agreement.
Following internal review among staff and players, the NHLPA plans to respond to the owners’ proposal that was presented to the players on Tuesday.
In preparation for the bargaining session on Thursday, NHLPA Special Counsel, Steve Fehr said "we're studying their proposal and look forward to responding to it later today.”
As has been the case throughout the CBA bargaining process, a large group of players are in Toronto to take part in Thursday’s negotiation session. The eighteen players in attendance include:
•Craig Adams
•Brad Boyes
•Chris Campoli
•David Clarkson
•Dan Cleary
•Carlo Colaiacovo
•Sidney Crosby
•Mathieu Darche
•Shane Doan
•Shawn Horcoff
•Jarome Iginla
•Robyn Regehr
•Eric Staal
•Matt Stajan
•Shawn Thornton
•Jonathan Toews
•Kevin Westgarth
•Dan Winnik
Crosby, Iginla, Toews, Staal, and Doan are the "stars" of this meeting, however, its the plow horses and bruisers like Regehr, Westgarth, Thornton, Darche and Adams who have served at the side of Donald Fehr since early July.
This session will determine the future course of the NHL season. Tension so thick, you can cut it with a skate blade!

Much more to come.....
