Another second period implosion killed the Sabres as they allowed three second-period goals to the Jets.
So much for the notion that Thomas Vanek could rill back into the lineup after missing six straight game. Vane's timing was off in a big way.
The Winnipeg Jets made the most of the chances that they were presented with, while the Sabres whiffed and shot blanks.
The 26-63-21 line was an embarrassing -12 in Winnipeg.
Vanek, Ennis and Stafford were -4 apiece. They were -3 in the second period alone. Ty;er Myers was -3 as was Christian Ehrhoff.
In the end, the Sabres had chances that they refused to bury.
Vanek was not himself in the loss as he often passed up shots of his own to create scoring opps for Ennis and Stafford.
Why Rolston played 26-63-21 together in the third period is beyond me. The line was dreadful through 40 minutes yet Rolston left the, together. I'd have like to have seen Vanek with Hodgson and Ott. Fir the first time since the trade, the Sabres looked lost with Jason Pominville on the top line, especially Vanek.
The Sabres are still four points out of a playoff spot and they remain in 11th place in the East.

What becomes of Marcus Foligno when Vanek draws back into the lineup? Will 82 sit and 65 play, or, vice versa? Will Marcus run with Porter and Flynn? If so, Luke Adam will be odd man out.
