Jhonas Enroth's playing days for the La Nova men's league team are done. No more 11:30pm game times at Buffalo State College.

Enroth is heading home to Sweden to play for Huddinge in Division 1. He's signed on to play two games, perhaps more, according to the club's sporting director, Per Lundström. The team has worked out the insurance cost details that are associated with Enroth's NHL contract and they are ready to take it day by day, game by game.

Ryan Miller's 24-year-old under-study will play home games against Vallentuna October 31 and Sydney on 4 November.

Enroth told me recently that he would wait in Buffalo to see what will happen in the CBA negotiations between the NHL and NHLPA. Last week, the NHL set today, Thursday 10/25, as the drop dead date for the PA to accept the 50/50 offer that he owners tabled last week. According to Bettman and Daly, getting a deal done today will insure an 82 game NHL season. Their puck-drop date for the season in 11/2/12. The NHL has postponed all games in October and up until November 1.

Mattias Enroth, Jhonas' brother, confirmed the news via Twitter.

Mattias recently left Falu IF in Sweden's first division to play for Nacka HK.

Will the two brothers play against one another? Depends on how long the NHL lockout lasts.

Huddinge is scheduled to play Nack on Sunday 11/4.

Mr. and Mrs. Enroth must be happy to have both sons home, playing head to head.

*Fingers crossed*.

Cooler heads have prevailed. For now, that is In Quebec City where the Remparts will be hosting Baie-Comeau on Thursday night.

Yes, Mikhail Grigorenko WILL be in the starting lineup.

Today, Remparts owner and head coach, Patrick Roy, unveiled his new “dual system”, whereby he will be rolling all three of his Euro prospects through his lineup. You’ll recall that Roy had announced last week that he would not be sitting Danish/Swedish forward Nick Sorensen once Russian Nikita Kucherov was cleared to play his first game in Q-City. That would have left Mikhail Grigorenko parked beside the coffee pot in the Quebec press box. Not a popular choice amongst Sabres and Remmparts fans, considering the Russian Rifle has 10 goals and 24 assists in his first 12 games this season. He has at least one point in each game that the Remparts have played, which ties his own personal record that he set in his rookie season in QCity last season.

Roy told LaPresse that he has capitulated.

"We had a discussion this morning [Tuesday] with Nick Grigo and Nikita. The three include the situation, which is not ideal. But there is no lockout every year, so we must deal with, "explained Roy.

It appears from the line trio of Kucherov-Grigorenko-Erne, that Sorensen is no wthe odd man out for Thursday night’s game.

"Nick is a very intelligent guy and a team player. As I said, I do not ask him to understand or be happy, but just accept the situation. He felt it coming and he told me, without necessarily being comfortable, he understood where they were made. I do not think that he misses four or five games affect his rank selection to this point”.

Sorensen is in his NHL draft season and he want sto play as many games as he can. However, extenuating circumstances exist in the Remparts camp, what with the NHL lockout in full effect. It appears as though Roy was doubling down on the hope that the lockout would be over and done with once Kucherov had healed from his offseason shoulder surgery. The lockout still rages on, while Kucherov has been cleared to play. Can’t blame Roy for playing an aggressive hand of poker.

In a nutshell, here’s what Roy means by “dual system”:

Sorensen will sit Thursday night. Kucherov will sit Saturday vs. Shawinigan, while Grigo will sit out Sunday’s game against Gatineau.

As fair and square as you can cut the pie. I suspect Roy will use this formula until such time that the NHL lockout ends, then, he can rock-n-roll all night with Sorenson and Kucherov in the nightly lineup.

Sorensen took the high road when he was asked how he felt about having to sit out.

"I do not think about it at the moment, this is something that discuss first between Patrick, my agent and me. Of course I want to play, and hope that the NHL starts soon. Grigo to a great start of the season and we would be very happy for him if he carved a position with the Sabres. For the rest, we can do nothing. Everyone wants to see hockey here in Canada and around the world. I am here to achieve my goal of playing in the NHL one day, "he added, which celebrated Tuesday, his 18th birthday.

Roy tipped his hand on the conversation that he had with Sabres GM Darcy Regier earlier this week.

"I had a conversation with Darcy Regier [Monday] and if the lockout ends, it is certain that the Sabres Grigo invite to camp. From the moment I get a confirmation on his status, we will make a decision, but as we did not, we'll wait. Even Mr. [Gilles] Courteau, Commissioner, suggested I wait until the lockout before anything. I cannot blame the Sabres, this is an abnormal situation. But from my side, I work for the Remparts and we want what is best for the organization. Unfortunately, the situation forces us to make an alternation, it is neither the fault nor Grigo, Kucherov and even less of Nick, "added Roy.
More to come on this fascinating story.

When the lockout ends, get ready for the Freakorenko show to roll into Buffalo!

Grigo has the hands of a jewel thief!

Thanks, Carl Tardif of Le Soleil

That group includes defencemen Dougie Hamilton of the Niagara IceDogs, Scott Harrington of the London Knights, and forwards Boone Jenner of the Oshawa Generals, Mark Scheifele of the Barrie Colts, and Ryan Strome of the IceDogs. Subban, Ceci, and Wilson are among six players on Team OHL that were selected in the first round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft along with the Bulls’ Brendan Gaunce, Slater Koekkoek of the Peterborough Petes, and the Generals’ Scott Laughton.

Storm captain and Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Matt Finn will compete before the home crowd alongside teammate Zack Mitchell in Game 3 of the series in Guelph, while Sting defenceman Alex Basso will compete before his home crowd in Game 4 in Sarnia.

The Team OHL rosters were assembled by a selection committee that includes Brampton Battalion General Manager and Head Coach Stan Butler, and London Knights’ General Manager Mark Hunter. Both Butler and Hunter worked in conjunction with Hockey Canada Head Scout Kevin Prendergast.

Team OHL enters the tenth anniversary of this event with a perfect 18-0 record against Team Russia following a 10-7 win last season in Ottawa, and a 6-3 victory in Sault Ste. Marie.
