Dmitry Orlov has finally re-signed with the Washington Capitals.

The Russian defenseman, who is participating in this years World Cup, signed a one-year $2.57M deal on Wednesday.

The signing leaves the Capitals with about $880,000 left with the cap to make any necessary additions or changes during training camp or later on in the season.

Orlov should be seeing a lot more responsibility this season as a top four defenseman, playing alongside either Matt Niskanen or John Carlson. Orlov finished last season with 8 goals and 21 assists playing mainly on the third pairing.
