The Washington Capitals remain one of a only a small handful of teams that are still undefeated in regulation this season.

Last nights 4-2 win over the Florida Panthers gave the Capitals a 3-0-1 record through their first four games, and last nights game winner was scored by none other than Alex Ovechkin.

After a night that was dominated by the news of Jagr's 750th career goal, which places him in third place all time behind Wayne Gretzky and Gordie Howe, Ovechkin's goal, which put the Caps up 3-2, got him that much closer to a milestone of his own.

The inevitable game winning goal was Ovechkin's 90th of his HoF career, tying him with former Cap Mike Gartner for 18th on the all-time list. With one more GWG, Ovechkin will slide up to 16th place tied with Wayne Gretzky and Mike Recchi.

Ovechkin also tallied an assist in the game, which marks the 280th time in his career he has had a multi-point game - fifth among active players.

What's most impressive about Ovechkin's rise up the ranks with the greats, is that he is still only 31 years old. His incredible goal scoring prowess has impressed fans and players alike for years, and he still has a few years left in the tank to make a deeper impact in the record books.

Ovechkin also sits just four power play goals away from 200 in his career, good for 18th all-time.

More to come...
