Alex Kovalev; the next captain of the Canadiens? According to Sovietsky Sport, that is what's being offered, as well as a contract worth more than 6 million, for one or two years.

It's the summer of hypothetical here in Montreal. Will Graeme Roustan be the owner, or will it be Serge Savard, or better yet, Molson? Anyone but Quebecor, please!!!

Who will be the coach? Marc Crawford? Bob Hartley? Larry Robinson? Mike Babcock??? Vyacheslav Bykov?

Mike Komisarek turned down an offer worth 4 million/season?

Things might be slow and boring right now, but they will undoubtedly be tremendously exciting in the coming weeks.

We are a month away from the draft, where hypothetically, Vincent Lecavalier could be acquired by the Canadiens.

How many of the 10 unrestricted free agents will be penned to deals by then?

What does the future hold in store for Saku Koivu if his place is no longer in Montreal?

Will the Canadiens put a defenseman on the coaching staff?

Will Roland Melanson retain his position with the club?

We have much to discuss in the coming weeks, as hypotheticals become realities. Grit your teeth through these boring times, as we all continue to search for the answers amidst rabid speculation.
