Anton Volchenkov: So who wants him?
In my opinion there may not be a defenseman whose stock is rising any faster than Anton Volchenkov's. If the new NHL is about shot blocking, than the new NHL is about Anton. He is the best in the NHL. Maybe one of the best to ever play the game. He doesn't only block shots, he saves goals. Two in just the last two games. Volchenkov will be very, very sought after this summer if Ottawa doesn't re-sign him. So far, my sources tell me the Sens have made a pretty good offer and Volchenkov's side wanted nothing of it. I would put it around 60-70 percent that Anton signs elsewhere, with there being a very strong chance that Murray deals his rights at the draft.
If he goes elsewhere....
The Caps want him in the worst possible way. The Red Wings, who I hear are going to let many free agents go this summer, are also very high on him. The Stars, Sabres, and Canadiens will all be in on this.
My early prediction...
Anton will be dealt to Detroit at the draft and sign a 5 year $28million deal.

The Habs must rebound from their loss to Ottawa 2 nights back to show. A loss tonight to Buffalo could put the Habs into a battle to avoid falling into 8th and facing the Capitals. A win and they are challenging for 6th place and a potential matchup with the Sabres. Big difference.

The NY Rangers need to defeat the NY Islanders in the worst possible way to stay alive.
The Blues are clinging by a thread, but they have what you want to have. A game against the team you need to catch, the 8th seeded Wings.
3D Hockey! (a huge benefit to goalies!)
Finally, for you all you geeky tech heads like me...tonight's Rangers/Islanders tilt will make history. It is being televised in by MSG in 3D. Right now, very few people actually own 3D TVs, however, the next TV you buy will be 3D as most new HDTVs will be coming equipped with this technology in the next year. ESPN is launching a 3D network soon, and you can probably bet this game could be sold to them to give them content.
