The Edmonton Oilers have traded former first overall pick Nail Yakupov to the St. Louis Blues for a conditional third round pick and minor leaguer Zach Pochiro.

The pick could become a second rounder if Yakupov scores 15 or more goals this season.

The Oilers have signed free agent defenseman Kris Russell to a one-year deal for $3.1 Million.
