At the outset of free agency, defenseman James Wisniewski was thought to be a good rolll of the dice for a team looking for a low risk, high reward option on the blueline.
The 32-year-old suffered a season-ending ACL tear in his first game with Carolina last October and after being bought out by the Hurricanes, signed a professional tryout with Tampa Bay. The Lightning released Wisniewski from the PTO early in training camp and according to TSN's Darren Dreger, the defenseman will sign with Barys Astana of the KHL.
