On yesterday's Buzzcast Kevin Allen posed the questions of "Where do the Flyers rank among the 30 NHL teams and are they a playoff team?"
It was a great debate that followed and led us to an hour long discussion about how some teams that we really like could still be in the bottom ten of the NHL. Kevin listed them at #21, I could only put them around 19 or 20, and Kevin, Mike and I all saw them as a bubble team likely finishing somewhere around 9th in the East...just out of the playoffs.
And yet we all see them as vastly improved and exciting to watch with a great new coach, dynamic forwards, much better than average goaltending and huge potential on the blueline moving forward.
The whole discussion got me thinking about where we place these teams heading into the season. So much has changed and so many teams we "think" are going to continue to progress are likely to fall back a bit. It happens EVERY year.
So the first team I thought I would throw out there are the Flyers...Where do you see them landing?
Today's Buzzcast will be at noon. One hour early. We will be joined by Peter Tessier as well.
