Tomorrow is the last day of the USA Camp here in Chicago and while it has been relatively slow on the rumor front this week, there are a few that are very intriguing...

*Tanguay> It has really become dead on the Tanguay front. Fascinating. Many are saying that he may have some offers from the KHL, but I wouldn't put much into that one. I am hearing the health issue may be slightly to blame for the latest delay as teams seek assurances that Tangs is really ready to go.

*Heatley> Push will come to shove at SOME point here, right??? Heatley doesn't want to go to camp, the Sens don't want him in camp, and yet the Oilers offer is by far the best to date. By far. The Rangers are still not budging on Dubinsky and the Sharks are looking for the right partner to move cap space with Marleau (who today was stripped of his Captaincy).

Marleau: Kind of surprised to hear great sources saying that the Sabres may be one of the front runners for Marleau, who does need to waive his NTC.

*Who do you think should be the next Shark's captain? Craig Custance on his twitter (worth following for sure go to: twitter.com/CraigCustance) wrote today, "The more I talk to Joe Pavelski the more I think he needs to be the next Sharks captain." I tend to agree with him.

*Kessel: Speaking of the Sharks: In all honesty I am hearing more that the Oilers and Canucks are in on Kessel than San Jose who all but had him tied up until the Heatley deal went downhill...

*Kaberle: Burke isn't calling around anymore, and the NTS window has passed us by, but that doesn't mean that teams aren't in the wings or going to make a pitch prior to early October. Sources here in Chicago are telling me that if a team gets to camp and finds the need and then goes back to Burke he will listen intently and Kaberle will likely not stand in the way of a deal due to how well this has been handled to date.

*Hannan: The Avalanche were apparently turned down by the Caps for a deal that could have sent Nylander to the Avs for Hannan. Hannan can be had apparently, which I frankly find rather surprising. Just last summer he was a great pickup and a huge loss for San Jose.

Going out with some hockey folks to dinner...If I get anything else interesting tonight I will write it later...
