Interesting weekend ahead...

On the Devils..

According to multiple sources, talks between New Jersey and Toronto as well as NJ and Los Angeles have intensified. The Devils now have a week to move salary to be allowed to play hockey in the 10-11 NHL season.

The Devils have had talks with multiple teams and the two names who are continually re-surfacing are Zubrus and Salvador. Unfortunately Salvador is currently injured, and Zubrus continues to build on his strong camp, all of which is leading to speculation that Langenbrunner may be considered to be moved. Rumors have had Langs heading to Colorado, Phoenix, Minnesota or Toronto.

On the Wings, Oilers, Rangers, and Isles...

Meanwhile, another team to watch this weekend is the Detroit, who I have been told have had discussions with Edmonton regarding Andrew Cogliano, who we all know is coveted by Sather in NY, and now Garth on the Island with the injuries the Isles have suffered. However, I have heard Garth may be more likely to make a big pitch for Gilbert Brule.

On Montreal, Philly, and Cory Schneider...

Canucks backup goaltender Cory Schneider is a huge chip and sources tell me the Canucks and Gillis are "very aware of the chip they are holding." One source went so far to say he talked to a scout who added, "Bieksa and Schneider are a package whose return could truthfully push the Canucks above the crowd of contenders in the West." Both the Habs and Flyers are in the mix for Schneider.

coming up today...

My prediction for the always fun Atlantic Division and the Hockeybuzz Live Podcast tonight at 5pm ET.
