All 47 players Updated on The Rumor Chart

To see the most current team speculation on all the possible trade-able players and some comments updated regularly, go to The Rumor Chart. Players are added and adjusted throughout the days as to what percentages I feel are their most likely destinations based on the hundreds of phone calls, emails, texts, IMs and telegrams I receive.

Here are some thoughts tonight on the eve of the eve of the draft....Tomorrow could be an enormous day. The NHL doesn't want trades during the awards for obvious reasons. It's not nice to step on the NHL spotlight with a trade...

However...tomorrow all bets are off...

Here are some of the latest...

On Bobby Ryan...
I added Bobby Ryan to the Rumor Chart this evening because he is definitely the subject of rumors, however those rumors at this point are entirely being generated by teams who are in on Nash, Parise, and Staal and are either...
A> Looking for a backup plan if they were to lose out.
B> Want Columbus, NJ, and Pittsburgh to at least "believe" there is another option in order to keep the price from going up.

Here is what I know on Bobby Ryan at this point.... Last season, when GM Murray essentially prepared Ryan to be traded just prior to the coach getting fired and Boudreau being brought in, the owners were VERY unhappy that Bobby's name was bantered about. They made it 100% clear at the time that Bobby Ryan was going nowhere..and from that point forth Ryan went on to have a stellar season eclipsing the 30 goal mark.

There are sources of mine who believe Getzlaf is actually more likely to get dealt...although neither seems likely.

Of course, as is always the case this time of year...things can and WILL change.

On Rick Nash...

I am told by people close to this situation that a Rick Nash deal is much more likely to happen tomorrow than on Friday. There have been more than a few people now who have told me that "while Howson's price is high, he has also let it be known that he wants resolution on this PRIOR to the draft so that he can then focus on the draft itself...a hugely important draft for the franchise..."

So who is in play? I still have the Sharks "slightly" ahead Toronto, the Rangers, Boston, Nashville and finally Philly (who really appears to be focusing elsewhere) I will of course stay very much on top of the Nash situation all night and all day/night tomorrow.

On Roberto Luongo..

It has become fashionable to say the Leafs are fading on Luongo, but what has really changed? I am still over 50% that Luongo is a Leaf by the start of the season..There really is no hurry to get a deal done now with Luongo... Not many suitors and the pieces needed not the same pieces Toronto will need this weekend.. I do expect there to be some diversional tactics coming out of toronto to throw the press off...so beware! One interesting note...the Blackhawks, according to one source, are trying to get Vancouver to consider moving Luongo to their most hated rivals. i can't see it happening, but there is a strong fit...The Hawks and Leafs are really the two teams most in need of a true #1.

On Olli Jokinen...

I have heard Montreal is getting in on Olli...Still hearing the Isles...and of course the Flames could re-sign him..

On Semin...

The Hawks are a new potential player with Semin...

On Jagr...

I still see Jagr possibly back to Philly if Philly manages to not use up cap space in a major deal this weekend. However two teams who were long rumored to be interested in Jagr, NJ and Edmonton are now on the chart for #68. Edmonton makes a ton of sense...Jagr's role helping young stars become superstars is perhaps his best role at this point in his career.

On Dennis Wideman...
Plenty of teams with interest, but keep an eye on the Wild here...if they fall short on Suter, Wideman is a player they could use...

On Steve Sullivan...

He could bring a ton of character to a team, and Buffalo is a possible favorite for Sully's services.

more to come including the scenarios unfolding of possible trades involving the top 5 picks in friday night's draft...
