Some quick hits for your Saturday...

Ethan Moreau has signed a one year deal with the Kings.

Last night word came down that the talks between Vancouver and Carolina, the ones I had discussed last week that would bring a "star forward to Vancouver" were heating up big time. I had literally six texts/calls from various sources informing me to keep my eye on Vancouver.

However, today some of those sources are less convinced that something can get done with Carolina, and have turned more to Vancouver having interest in Semin.

This summer the Capitals have been very outspoken that they themselves are not initiating any talk regarding Semin being traded. My sources tell me that McPhee and company are true to that word. They are't shopping Semin in the least. That has not stopped other teams from calling about Alex.

It is sometimes important to remember about rumors the following fact: Even when they don't tell us what will happen they almost always are solid indications as to what teams are thinkng about...where their heads are...and this summer it has become quite apparent the Canucks are trying to add a serious top 6 forward.

On the Predators...

Another team interested in Semin is the Nashville, who I have heard are looking to add another top line player...despite the signing of Shea Weber...The Preds have Weber for one year at least and they look like they intend on making it an interesting year.

On Hemsky.
I am hearing more Red Wings talk, as well as more talk of Pittsburgh regarding Hemsky..and even if Crosby were to miss the start of the season...If Crosby goes on LT it appears possible the Pens will turn to Ales Hemsky.

More to come...
