The Buzz: Should NHL Bring Back the Two-Line Pass?

I will be back with a rumor update later, but for now, I thought it is a good time to discuss an idea that has been making the rounds. Among others, Eric Lindros, has recently come out in favor of the NHL bringing back the two-line pass as one method of reducing the concussion risk to players.

The line of reasoning: The increased speed of the game has been a factor in the growing number of concussions. Slowing the game down to a degree can help cut the risk, at least somewhat.

Another common suggestion: Revising the rules for padding to have players go from the hard-capped elbow and shoulder pads of today (which can, and is, used as an offensive weapon) to softer pads.

In terms of rule changes, I don't think too many people want to go back to seeing the style of hockey that was played from the mid-1990s until the 2004-05 lockout. It should also be noted that it wasn't like there weren't a fair share of concussions -- several to Lindros alone -- during those years.

On the other hand, the status quo with the sheer number of concussions incurred every season also can't continue. In a fast-moving collision sport like hockey, there are always going to be a farily high number of concussions. But that doesn't mean that steps can't and shouldn't be taken to make the game safer.

The Buzz: What would YOU like to see the NHL do to reduce the concussion risk? Would you bring back the two-line pass? Change the padding? Change the rink dimensions? Something else?
