However, the truth of the matter is that Tanguay appears no closer to a decision today than ever before. Sources are telling me the 5 million dollar range is not in play and that it's a matter of getting closer to 4 with more years in a worse situation or taking a better situation for less.

The money is just not really out there for Alex and he now runs the risk of competition from players such as Zherdev...

UPDATE: There is a ridiculous rumor out there that Tanguay's highest offer is 1.2M. This is completely absurd. He has offers now in the 2's and 3's.
