Tampa Fans Blame Marty? Don't Count on a Kesler Deal; Buzzcast

Talking to sources and based on the history of Mike Gillis....well as one source said, "He had 18 months to trade Luongo after he requested a trade and wasn't happy with the returns. Ten days for Kesler isn't promising."

Of course you could argue Luongo's contract was a hindrance, and it was, but at the end of the day when a player asking to be moved gets out your leverage is gone. Gillis is not a fan of playing without leverage.

Tampa fans blaming Marty?

Ok. That is insane. I just talked to a friend in Tampa who said the local radio station is pushing hard that St. Louis is being a baby about the Olympics and many of the fans are agreeing with him.

This is Marty St. Louis. Probably the most important person in your franchise's history and known to be one of the classiest players out there. On the other side of the table you have Steve Yzerman who just spent the fall on your dime scouting for Team Canada. And when asked if he was scouting for the Lightning making it known he wasn't in town for the Lightning...but for Team Canada. At times it feels like Yzerman's respect for the franchise as a LEGIT franchise is very debatable.

I know Yzerman just won gold for a second time and I always had so much respect for the guy as a player. But he has a job to do and with the exception of the Bishop trade what has he done since taking over for Brian Lawton....really? This is still Lawton's team.

So we are all assuming Marty wants out because of the Olympics, but does that really sound like Marty? I can't help but think there is more to this and while the Olympics played a part for sure....this goes further back.
